01 ground floor
one room does everything down here — cooking, sitting, folding the doors open onto the terrace. and then there is the pool. it starts turquoise at one end and ends up pink at the steps, tile by tile, and every hour of light does something different to it.
02 upper floor
up the stair, past the wall, and out onto the balcony. a concrete bed on rounded steps, our own drawing, cast in place. a rain shower behind it. this is where the evening happens.
your beach
a kilometre and a half of white sand under green cliffs, and most days close to nobody on it. no beach club, no rows of vendors, no signal on your phone. one warung at the bottom selling cold beer and coconuts, and that is the entire infrastructure. fifteen minutes down on foot, five on a scooter.

the wifi reaches the pool. it does not reach the beach, which is sort of the point.

nyang nyang is about five minutes away on a scooter, or a walk of roughly twenty-five minutes down a steep road. for the way back up, there are usually drivers waiting at the bottom with scooters who'll run you to the top for a small fee.
two. it's a one-bedroom villa, built for a couple. the minimum stay is two nights.
somewhere between sixty and ninety minutes by car, depending on how the traffic on the bukit is behaving that day.
it helps, but it isn't essential. we're happy to arrange one for you. for longer trips, or if you'd rather not ride yourself, there's agus — part of the casa baci family — who can take you wherever you're going.
yes. it reaches the whole house and the pool, and it's quick enough to actually get work done between swims.
completely. it's walled and gated, with your own pool and terrace and no shared spaces. once the gate is shut, the place is yours.
yes, throughout the house. and downstairs the living kitchen folds open to the terrace, so you can trade it for the sea breeze whenever you'd rather.
yes — the ground floor is a proper living kitchen with an island, set up for real cooking and not just making coffee.
